The Marshes Community Benefit Fund are delighted to award a grant of £25,420 to Hob Hey Wood Friends Group

The funding will help to renovate the various pathways which are a mix of boardwalk, gravel and bare earth and provide a guide for visitors to the wood. Upgrading these pathways will improve accessibility and safety so everybody can enjoy the positive benefits of having a thriving ancient woodland full of flora and fauna on their doorstep.

The project will provide an accessible, natural and tranquil setting for visitors and the local community to explore at their leisure. It will also support the engagement of the community through volunteering and provide a resource for educational activities.

The purpose of the Hob Hey Wood Friends group is to conserve and develop the flora and fauna of Hob Hey Wood and to enhance its amenity value for all who live near and/or visit the site, subject to our listed aims and values and the management objectives of the landowner, Frodsham Town Council.

Their Values:
- They are committed to ensuring that there are lasting benefits from Hob Hey Wood for the local community and for its wildlife.
- They will work with others to enrich and protect Hob Hey Wood and to encourage activities that are in harmony with the long-term health of Hob Hey Wood.
- They believe that everyone should have the right to the safe enjoyment of Hob Hey Wood.
