Andrew Jones, Chair of the Marshes Community Benefit Fund, was delighted to be asked to attend the official opening of the new playground equipment at Alvanley and Manley primary School. The Marshes Community Benefit Fund provided the funding for the new equipment earlier this year and the school moved extremely quickly to have the new play feature in place before the end of the school year.

Said Andrew;

It was a pleasure to represent the Marshes Community Benefit Fund at the official opening. Ms Murphy organised a lovely ceremony and the speech from Mr Thapar was both funny and moving. The pupils sang an amazing song showing how proud they are of their school. I was also delighted to meet several school governors who had worked hard on the funding application to make the new playground a reality.

Following the official opening, The Marshes Community Benefit Fund were honoured to receive dozens of handwritten Thank You letters from the pupils. The letters all thanked the panel for providing the funds and showed the amount of excitement and enjoyment that the new equipment has already provided.

Will Cook (Vice-Chair) commented;

It’s a privilege to be part of the process that has helped the school deliver something that was clearly needed.
