The Marshes Community Benefit fund are delighted to award a grant of £25,000 to Frodsham Fishpond Restoration Volunteers
The project will restore the fishponds and their immediate surroundings at Frodsham Saltworks playing fields so that they can provide leisure fishing for the local community. In addition, it will support volunteers and commission commercial specialists to complete the necessary works to restore the fishponds and allow them to engage and co-operate with stakeholders such as representatives from the local council.
This project will benefit the environment as the area is currently littered with various rubbish with years of abuse which is one of the main focuses to clear, manage and control going forward. With a cleaner environment it is hoped that more wildlife will come to the area. The main benefit would be to bring a great angling facilitates for varies ages of the community, allowing all sexes and ages to benefit from the facility. From new to time served anglers we would want to appeal to all people.
