The Marshes Community Benefit fund are delighted to award a grant of £2,650 to the Frodsham Community Association
The grant will fund T-shirts and medals for the Frodsham Downhill run in addition to covering the road closure costs and the medical support needed to hold the event.
The Frodsham Downhill Run provides a sense of community and starts the annual Festival in the Park which attracts about 1400 attendees to this free to attend event. They aim to have 250 runners with their extended families supporting them.
This is a family fun run with a split of circa 30/70 children/adults. 99% of the runners reside within the WA6 postcode. After 17 years the run has provided a legacy with some runners started as children and are now running with their children.
Helsby Running Club, 4th Frodsham Scouts and Forest Hills Hotel provide 34 volunteers to support the run. Both Frodsham Town Council and Frodsham & Helsby Rotary are extremely supportive of the run.
Frodsham Community Association was created to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Frodsham without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions. They are united in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

The Marshes Community Benefit Fund provides funding to local Community groups, charities, schools, businesses and clubs to support not-for-profit projects designed to benefit the local communities. The fund can award up to £170,000 per year across 2 funding cycles.
