The Marshes Community Benefit fund are delighted to award a grant of £5,000 to Ho Ho Helsby.

The grant will fund a number of improvements to the annual event. This will include additional lighting for a neglected part of the village and also various activities for the event.

The objective of Ho Ho Helsby is to bring together all elements (all ages, abilities, denominations) of the local community as one to celebrate, as well as providing local groups with the opportunity to showcase their talent and for local businesses to also participate.

The independent, volunteer led, Ho Ho Helsby Group puts on a free Christmas festival with varied attractions, attended by over 2,000, culminating in a twilight parade of around 15 vehicles which are decorated and populated with local schools, voluntary groups and of course, Santa Claus himself.

They involve a large selection of local voluntary, musical and other groups, artisan stalls, and a grotto. They also help source a central Christmas tree and Christmas lights.
