The Marshes Community Benefit Fund are delighted to award a grant of £20,268 The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Laurence

The funding will allow the PCC to replace the current life-expired boiler serving the heating system within the Grade I listed church building. This project forms an urgent and important part of the Church’s developing Vision-led Building Programme for the next five years to 2031.

St Laurence Church is not only a place of worship, but also a building of significant historic and cultural interest which provides a valuable space for community groups, organisations and performances.
The church welcomes everyone, regardless of culture or beliefs, to visit the building, engage with its heritage and participate in events and activities.
The replacement heating system will help ensure that the building remains warm, welcoming and suitable for community use throughout the year.

Andrew Jones, Chair of the Marshes Community Benefit Fund, said
“The panel are enthusiastic about the investment’s ability to improve comfort within the church building, supporting community use and helping people continue to enjoy and engage with this local space”.
