The grant will allow the creation of a new Helsby Litter Network will help create and sustain a safer, cleaner and more vibrant Helsby by negating the negative effects of the Broken Glass Windows Crime Theory. This will benefit all the residents who live in Helsby and all who drive through the village due to the improved kerb appeal of local neighbourhoods and increased pride in the streets where people live.

Andrew Jones, Chair of the Marshes Community Benefit Fund, said;

The panel were delighted to support this initiative. Litter networks have a proven history of organising similar schemes across the North-West and we are looking forward seeing the benefits of the network in Helsby

James Coates from Litter Networks commented;

Litter Networks are delighted to have been successful with our grant application to MCBF. This will enable us to launch our new ‘Helsby Litter Network’ with its own designated webpage with a live bag counter: https://litternetworks.org/network/helsbylitter as well as its own Facebookpage: https://www.facebook.com/groups/helsbylitter

We also encourage volunteers to take a look at our website https://litternetworks.org/ for a broader sense of what we do across the North West. Each Litter Network belongs to the community which started it. It is our role as the Litter Networks organisation to quite simply help make sure those who want to join the Helsby Litter Network, find it as easy as possible to coordinate and carry out their litter picking – whether solo picks or group picks. We will make sure you have the kit you need, the communication tools you require, and help solve any problems you may come across. Let’s love where we live and help Keep Helsby Tidy all year round!”
