The funding will allow the Club to replace 16 existing halogen floodlights with new energy-efficient LED floodlights across the Club’s four tennis courts.

Helsby Tennis Club provides coaching and social and competitive tennis opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. The club also ensures that its courts are available to the wider community on a pay and play basis, helping to make tennis accessible to all.

The project will significantly reduce energy consumption and lower the club’s carbon footprint, supporting its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Savings generated through improved energy efficiency will allow the club to reinvest further into its facilities, programmes and community activities.

Emily Edwards, a member of the Marshes Community Benefit Fund, said

“The panel are delighted to support this project since they recognise its positive impact on the environment and just how important sport and being outdoors is to both physical and mental health”.
