The grant will be used to improve energy efficiency and effectiveness of their building’s electric central heating system. This will include installing a smart heating control system, replacing old convection wall panels and heaters with modern infrared solutions, installing 21 ceiling mounted heaters, replacing the roof insulation, dry lining and insulating walls and form a foundation for future green energy options.

The Weaver Mersey District scout organisation provides Scouting across an area stretching from Ince and Elton in the West to Moore in the East, Widnes in the North to Norley in the South with locations in, Frodsham, Helsby, Alvanley, Norley and Kingsley and inbetween.

They support 17 Scout Groups and 3 Explorer Scout units to encourage local young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, they support their members by providing the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed.

The Scouts believe in preparing young people with skills for life and that young people develop most when they are ‘learning by doing,’ when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.
