The Marshes Community Benefit fund are delighted to award a grant of £8,666 to Alvanley Cricket Club
The Marshes Community Benefit fund are delighted to award a grant of £8,666 to Alvanley Cricket Club.
The award will fund the equipment needed to support their pitch improvement project. A cricket pitch needs to have a specific grass height and density to ensure fair gameplay. This allows the pitch to maintain a consistent and even grass cover, promoting better ball bounce. From a safety perspective, uneven surfaces can significantly affect the gameplay in cricket. Producing a level pitch by removing high spots, ensures a more uniform surface and improves player safety.
Alvanley Cricket Club field 4 mens teams, 3 Women’s teams, junior mixed teams from Under 7 to Under 15 and girls teams at U10 and U13.
In the last couple of years, Alvanley has been able to applaud Chris Charles, who has come through Alvanley Junior to play for the full Cheshire team. Lucy Graham, Eleri Morris, Aggy Simmons Charlie Barratt and Isla Entwistle are regular Cheshire Girls players with Ieuan Morris, George Olson, Ollie Entwistle &Ted Hayharst playing for Cheshire Boys and to top it off, Alvanley Junior graduate, Sophie Ecclestone is the Number 1 bowler in the World!!
